and Owner - Dumas M. Siméus

Dumas Siméus is the Founder of Siméus Foods International, Inc. and DMS Food
Group. He is an entrepreneur, global executive, and former presidential
candidate for Haiti. He is fluent in English, French and Spanish.
Mr. Siméus is the former President of TLC Beatrice Foods, a $2 billion
multinational corporation with operations in 25 countries. Mr. Siméus has lived
in several European and Latin American countries and served on many boards of
directors including TLC Beatrice Foods; Savoy S.A. Venezuela, the largest
chocolate and snack manufacturer in Venezuela; Artic S.A., an ice cream
manufacturer and distributor in Belgium, and others.
Under Mr. Siméus’ leadership from 1996 until 2005, Siméus Foods achieved the
distinction of becoming the nation’s largest food processor owned and controlled
by a Black American. In 2005 while running for the presidency of Haiti, Mr.
Siméus hired a new executive team to run the company. In late 2007, its major
equity sponsor, a large buyout fund, acquired operating and economic control of
the company. In early 2008, Mr. Siméus resigned from the Siméus Foods Board of
Directors and remains an investor.
Mr. Siméus recently created DMS Food Group, LLC as an acquisition and consulting
company focused on the food industry.
As a dynamic motivational speaker, Mr. Siméus has shared his journey and
philosophy for success with numerous universities and fundraising events. Mr.
Siméus has received many honors, including Entrepreneur of the Year from Ernst &
Young LLP, and the 2003 Distinguished Alumni Award from the University of
Chicago, Graduate School of Business. He has also been honored for his
humanitarian work in Haiti.
Mr. Siméus served on Florida Governor Jeb Bush’s 2005 Advisory Committee for
Haiti’s economic development and has advised various U.S. ambassadors.
Mr. Siméus established Org. Sové Lavi (Saving Lives) to help the less fortunate
in the U.S. and Haiti. Sové Lavi operates a fulltime medical clinic in the
village where he was born. The clinic treats up to 800 patients a month for the
U.S. cost equivalent of 35 cents per patient. Sové Lavi runs a clean water
project to bring potable water to the people in the village.
Mr. Siméus was born in extreme poverty to parents with no formal education. He
received his Electrical Engineering degree from Howard University and his MBA
from the University of Chicago.
